SKIN CLEANSING AND MAKE-UP REMOVAL COSMETICS

Thorough make-up removal is the first step in evening skincare. Although the name itself is related strictly to removing make-up, make-up removal cosmetics have a much more serious task. Their role is also to cleanse the skin of impurities, excess sebum and other substances that may interfere with its functioning.

Make-up removal cosmetics – how to use them

Remember that proper make-up removal actually consists of two stages. The first stage is to remove make-up residue from the eyes, lips and skin. Micellar waters are good for this purpose. Simply soak a cotton pad with one, place it on the area to be cleansed and remove the impurities with a gentle movement. Repeat until the pad is clean. The second stage is to wash the face thoroughly. Some people make the mistake of not washing their skin after using micellar water. However, it is important to remember that all make-up removal products contain detergents and leaving them on your skin regularly can have a negative impact on it. Therefore, in the second stage, choose a product, for example a foam, which will allow you to wash your skin thoroughly and prepare it for the next skincare steps.

Which micellar water to choose?

Micellar waters are make-up removal cosmetics, but they often also contain additional skincare ingredients. You will find a wide range of micellar waters in our shop, so it is important to know your skin's needs well. If you have dry or sensitive skin, you should opt for waters with a moisturising or soothing effect. They also work best for removing eye make-up. If your skin is dull and grey, micellar water containing vitamin C is a good choice. For oily skins that tend to shine, choose micellar water with mattifying properties.

Are toners make-up removal cosmetics?

The role of toners is primarily to restore the correct pH of the skin after contact with water. They are therefore not make-up removal cosmetics in the strict sense. However, they can assist this process and are often able to remove minor impurities. Toners are used after washing the face. Apply them with cotton pads or your hands and treat the skin thus prepared with further skin care products.
