HAND CARE

Hands are our hallmarks and, at the same time, the part of the body most exposed to harmful factors. We wash them many times every day, they come into contact with detergents, water and sometimes strong cleaning agents. This is why regular hand care is so important if we want to enjoy comfortable and well-groomed hands. Take a look at our suggestions.

Why do we need hand care?

The skin on the hands has very few sebaceous glands, and on the inside there are none. This makes it lose moisture very easily. In addition, contact with washing agents and other substances further increases moisture loss. As a result, the skin on the hands becomes chapped and it may peel and crack, causing great discomfort. It is also easily irritated. Hand care focuses on rebuilding the skin's protective layer. It is designed to restore proper hydration, nourish and regenerate the vulnerable epidermis.

What should hand care look like?

It may seem that hand care is nothing too complicated, but it is worth bearing in mind a few basic things. Firstly, avoid washing your hands with hot or cold water. Extreme temperatures will only increase dryness. Secondly, use mild soaps that contain ingredients to moisturise and soothe the skin. Remember also that it is better to avoid automatic hand dryers. Your hands will thank you if you simply dry them with a paper towel. And thirdly, apply a cream after each hand wash. Remember that hand care requires regularity and consistency, so it's good to have a tube of hand cream with you at all times.

Which hand cream to choose?

If the skin on your hands is in good condition and it's not freezing outside, opt for a moisturising cream that absorbs well. Ingredients such as urea, hyaluronic acid or vitamin E will quickly moisturise and smooth the skin.  In winter or if your skin is dry, your hand care should change a little. Then it is worth reaching for regenerating and strongly nourishing cosmetics, such as shea butter, allantoin, argan oil or vitamin A. They will protect the skin against moisture loss, as well as soften and shield it. If, on the other hand, you are observing signs of ageing, your daily hand care should provide ingredients that will stimulate the repair processes, and make the skin brighter and more supple. Then reach for snail mucus extract, creams containing glycolic acid, vitamin C or retinol. And once a week, use a powerful regenerating mask to make your hands smooth and silky soft again.
