LIP GLOSSES
Lip glosses are cosmetics that have enjoyed great popularity in the make-up world for years. Their history dates back to ancient times. Women in Egypt used a mixture of beeswax and lip dye to enhance their beauty. Modern lip glosses appeared on the cosmetics market in the 1930s. However, it was in the 1990s that they gained huge popularity and became a permanent fixture in the make-up bags of modern women.
What are lip glosses made of?
Lip glosses contain moisturising glycerine, hydrolysed proteins and oils that smooth the epidermis and take care of its condition. This effectively prevents the lips from drying out. They also contain waxes to fix the lip glosses, colouring pigments and light-reflecting particles. Some lip glosses also contain plant extracts (e.g. chilli extract) which stimulate blood circulation to give the effect of enlarged lips.
Why do we choose glosses?
Lip glosses are primarily used to enhance the beauty of the lips and give them a healthy glow. With moisturising ingredients, and often also vitamins, lip glosses nurture the skin, moisturise and smoothen it. They are the perfect solution for those who want to highlight their lips but don't like strong, opaque make-up. Lip glosses with ginger or chilli extract are great for those with thin lips who are looking for a magnifying effect.
How to apply lip glosses?
Lip gloss application is extremely simple. Simply open the container, apply the product to your lips and gently spread it with your finger, applicator or brush. You can also use lip glosses over previously applied lipstick to boost its colour and add an alluring shine to your lips.
