HIGHLIGHTERS
Highlighters are cosmetics used to add subtle shine, radiance and a glowing effect to specific areas of the face. The main purpose of highlighters is to enhance natural features, contour the face and give the skin a healthy and radiant appearance.Highlighters are usually manufactured as loose powders, liquids, creams or compact powders, allowing for a variety of application.
Highlighters – types
The most popular are highlighters in the form of compact powder, that is pressed. They are easy to use and suitable for virtually any skin type. They give a fairly intense, but even illumination effect. In contrast, cream or liquid highlighters provide a softer, more natural glow. They will work especially well for those with dry skin types. They can be applied with the fingers or with the included applicator. Lovers of "no make-up" make-up will also like them.
Which highlighter to choose?
When choosing a highlighter, consider your skin type, skin tone and the effect you want to achieve. If you have oily skin, opt for a pressed highlighter. For dry skin, choose a cream highlighter. Use highlighters in moderation, as too much will make your face look older and unnatural. For cool skin types, choose highlighters in pink shades; for warm skin types, choose gold and peach tones.
How to apply highlighter?
We've already mentioned the first rule – in moderation. Remember that applying highlighter to certain areas will accentuate them, so check where exactly such products should be applied. The most common places to apply highlighters are: the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, the Cupid's bow, the outer part of the brow bones, and the forehead. You can also apply highlighter in the inner corner of the eye. This will give you the effect of a more radiant, open look.
