BLUSHES
Make-up blushes, also known as blushers or face blush, are cosmetics used to add a healthy flush and freshness to the cheeks. They are used to highlight the cheekbones, giving the face a natural and radiant look. Make-up blushes are available in a variety of forms, such as powders, creams or gels, as well as a variety of shades, allowing you to match the product to your individual preferences and skin tone.
Make-up blushes – why are they used for?
Blushes are primarily meant to mimic a natural flush. However, this is not their only role. By skilfully applying blush, you can subtly highlight and define your cheekbones, shaping your facial features.Blushes are also an integral part of many make-up looks, complementing other products such as foundation, eyeshadow and lipstick.
How to choose make-up blushes?
When choosing a blush, pay attention to your skin tone. If you have a cool complexion, go for blushes with cool undertones such as pink and purple. If you have a warm complexion, choose shades of peach, orange or gold. The blush formula and matching it to your skin's needs is also important. If you have dry skin, a cream blush can additionally moisturise it. For oily skin, a powder blush will be good and hold up better. Take other cosmetics into account as well. Blush should harmonise with the rest of your make-up. If you do intense eyeshadow or strong lips, opt for a softer blush.
How to apply blush?
Application methods vary depending on the blush formula. Powder blushes should be applied with an angled brush. Contrary to popular belief, applying blush to the top of the cheekbone is not always a good idea. The best place to apply blush depends on the shape of your face. Apply blush carefully, as it's very easy to make the effect too intense. Liquid blushes should be applied with an applicator. Stick blushes should be applied with a brush or directly onto the skin.
